In RotMG, death is permanent: in other words, when you die, you die. There is no respawning with the same stats; every character must begin at level 1. Furthermore, all items equipped by a character or stored in their inventory are lost upon death; you can’t keep anything, unless you store it in the Vault or another character’s inventory prior to death. Realm Gold

Realm Of The Mad God Hacked Client

All players start with 40 (gold), and can buy more with real currency. Gold allows you to buy various items such as dyes, cloths, pet eggs, pet food, equipment, vault chests, and character slots.

Note that money spent on Realm Gold goes to the developers, and supports them in making a better game.

Fame

Fame is obtained as you survive and gain XP from the monsters you kill in the realm. Fame cannot be accessed or used until a character dies, earning it. Fame can be used to feed items to pets, found & upgrade Guilds, and–occasionally–purchase Mystery Boxes in the Nexus.

Trading

In RotMG, there is no standard currency–all trading consists of equipment, potions, and other items. Done correctly, trading is an efficient and secure method of acquiring wanted items (so long as they are not Soulbound).

Before trading, it is recommended that you check the wiki for an item’s tier (which gives a rough idea of its value). It may also be helpful to check the Current Offers on RealmEye’s trading page; this shows what other users are willing to buy and sell their items for.

Unless using a service like RealmEye, trading is generally verbal–basically, tell other players what you have and what you’d like in exchange. As a helpful tip, try not to spam the Nexus with messages, and be polite to other traders; you’ll generally get a better deal!

If you’d like to sell something fast, many traders gather in the Nexus on the server USWest3.

Basic Trading Procedure
  1. Get someone to trade with you by offering to sell something to them, or buy something from them. Click on their character icon and request a trade.

  2. If you haven’t discussed the exact details of your trade in chat, check the other person’s inventory for items you want. Let them inspect yours too.

  3. Select the item(s) in your inventory you want to trade. The other player will select the item(s) they wish to trade. Make sure you know what you’re selling and what you’ll receive–some scammers try to remove items from the trade at the last second, or switch them for less valuable items.

  4. Accept the trade and thank your trading partner in chat.

  5. If the trade was good, you may wish to lock the other person as a reminder that they are a fair trader. However, this is up to you–if you’re not interested, leave them be and enjoy Realm!

Note: If you are trading frequently or dealing in valuable items, we recommend making sure that your trading partner is not a scammer. This can be done using the RealmEye database of user reports; for more information, reference the MrEyeball commands “Tag,” “Untag,” and “Scammer.” Also, pay attention to what other players are saying; if they’re calling someone a scammer, be careful!

The HUD

The HUD is the user interface for RotMG, which contains several components.

On the mini map in the top right, several dots are used to represent players. You can click on these dots to see what players are in a certain area, and teleport to them if possible. Most players are represented by yellow dots; however, gray dots represent unnamed players, and green dots represent your guild mates. Red dots represent monsters, and also show the location of quests and some other Heroes of Oryx from any distance. Note that uou can zoom in and out the minimap by scrolling, or clicking the “+” and “-” signs on top of it.

Trading

Each different realm (given names such as Medusa, Flayer, Ogre, etc) randomly generates a world map upon opening. Generally, lower level monsters are found towards the outside of the map, while the most powerful monsters are found within the Godlands at the center. If you are a low level player, be careful when teleporting to a large group of level 20 players near the Godlands.

On the side you can lock people in your grid. They stay there until you unlock them, and while they are locked you can easily teleport to them.

It may help to set your teleport to the nexus hotkey to F so that if you are in trouble you can teleport out fast. For even more convenience, set your health and mana potions to keys near your movement keys in case you need a quick boost of either of them.

Guilds

Introduced in build 121, guilds are a feature to help players organize and interact. They cost 1000 fame to make, can hold up to 50 members, and allow 5 different ranks.

The Nexus

This is the place where you start. It is where you can safely trade, heal and access your Vault to store items.

Communication

The best way to interact with other players is to use social common sense! Be polite and have fun!

Finally, RotMG means Realm of the Mad God. Use this list to understand RotMG slang.

Once you’ve reached level 20 with a few characters, you’ll probably be looking for the next challenge. For information on the trickiest area on the normal game map, see here.

RotMG Zero to Hero Guide by iblob

So you just died and now have nothing. Maybe it was some horrendous lag spike maybe your derped and ran into something your shouldnt have or maybe you dont know what your doing.
But never fear you can always recover! And this guide is here to help.

Step one-Starting out
First for both methods never start with dagger/sword classes they cannot farm well at all in the current stage your at save them for later.
So your just starting out with nothing and you need to get back into the top of the game.
Its a long climb however and if you don’t want to be the snacks at the next sandman convention you need some gear.

You can do this in 2 ways

1.Lowland farming-Reccomended wizard for this.
Really what your meant to do in the beginning. You need armour to start out so don’t bother with the beach.
Robe’s drop from the Big guys with minions they shouldn’t be hard to find Just go in just around the beach and use you ability or weapon (Hence wizards) make sure to clear the minions first before getting loot.
Once you have some def go in any pirate cave you see they rarely drop T4’s which are very useful in this early stage.
Then once you get decent gear press the wrench when your in the nexus and sort your hotkeys out. You need the autofire hotkey and nexus hotkey.
Then go in the realm test nexus a few times go in the godlands at around level 12 (Teleport to the big mass of level 20’s) and start killing gods.
To do this you need to dodge as many none player bullets as you can to survive check a god killing guide for help with that and get gear you need at least 14 def for this next step.

2.Go godland diving.
An alternative to the boring lowlands is the godlands where players literally drop free loot on the ground.
Bear in mind you need to click the wrench in the nexus and bind your nexus hotkey then go into a realm and press that key to test it.
Gods will 1 shot a level 1 so as soon as you find something press the key i just mentioned and go into your vault in the nexus.
Then go over the chest and drag it in.
Why? Even with good gear you still will get one shotted so rather than instantly lose your new found loot you keep it safe in your vault.
Then when you get a set put them on and go into the lowlands get to level 12+ and try to dodge the bullets.

Now you have 14 def or more your ready to go into those white portals you see dropping from those blue things around the pink sprite.
Once you enter you will see bulkets flying at you DONT PANIC only the purple bullets deal any serious damage so just run through the rooms as fast as possible. Dont even worry about the evil pink sprites they take a second to see you so you can just run around them and not take a single hit.

Once you reach the boss go until you see it flash green then run back.
Then wait until it fires these turret things if your a wand/staff class stand in the gap in the squares and shoot at the boss be sure to stand nearer the large square. If not find some white tiles to stand on north east south or west of the boss and side step its shots. Once the X goes away run from the boss and repeat until someone dies. If you kill it you get a dex pot drink then repeat sprites until you reach at least 50 then save up a few then sell 3 of them for a def through trading.

So your now what we call 1/8 congrats! But now your tired of your boooring T8’s that do measly damage and want something a little better.
Well now you can start killing those quest things dont go for shrines/cubes however but go for someone else.
They sometimes give you pots like vit and def drink the def and sell the vit for def them sell the def for gear based on the price guide or any lucky drops you get.
Or scince you must have seen him by now if you get lucky at oryx you can sell those for better gear or if you get a T10 and you feel confident wear them.
Then keep farming up to 3/8 thats dex/def/spd.

So now your back to some stability you can start preparing for other classes to take your place.
Either store gears and pots for said classes or you can make another account and farm that one up.
Godlands events and Oryx are your main source of pots.

After that there’s nothing left but the wine cellar for gear This guide should help

Then get an amulet and do trenches and tombs.
And that’s the end of the guide hope you enjoyed!
